Last Sunday was one of the most memorable Sundays in the history of Eastpoint Family Church. Our Carols, Candles and Communion service was precious and God’s sweet presence was imminent. Our dinner following was such a wonderful time of fellowship. Our seniors enjoyed receiving beautifully wrapped gifts. Our children were lavished with toys from Toys for Tots.
This Sunday, I will be speaking on the “The Solitude of Jesus”. Referring to the scripture Luke 6:12-13 as follows:
“Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. And when it was day, He called His disciples to Himself, and from them He chose twelve whom He also named apostles.”

December 31, we will have the church doors open for a prayer service at 2:00pm. Come and pray the New Year in!

Christmas Treasures
Do you remember wanting that one gift that was absolutely necessary to have for Christmas? You wrote Santa Claus about it, you repeatedly told your parents of your desire to have such a treasured gift, and you may have even told your friends of your soon arriving gift. You would have done, or given, anything to have that gift within your hands on Christmas morning. To not have that gift within your possession on Christmas would almost certainly have meant complete disappointment. How could no one have heard you talk about that gift? You wrote to Santa, you told your parents, you even shared with your friends that it would be yours—and they were welcome to come over and play.
Believe it or not, God has a treasure that He greatly desires. He has let it be known that He wants this gift; He has written about it, He has told those around Him that He wants this gift, and He is willing to give up anything for this gift (and has). Do you know what this gift is? It is YOU!
All through the Bible, God has passionately sought after us—not just mankind in general, but as individuals. He is intent on having us with Him for all eternity. The angels in heaven know of His desire to spend eternity with us. In fact, on numerous occasions, God has sent them to us to deliver the important message concerning His love and longing for us. This message has also taken on the form of man, when Jesus Christ was born. God gave up a part of Himself for us. He, holy and perfect, left the glory of heaven to come to a filthy, dirty, evil world and live among us. Then, He allowed us to bind, beat, and murder Him. But, He did this so that we would learn from His teachings and receive eternal life from His death and resurrection—the power behind all that He has given us.
God desires you; even more than that, He treasures you. He wants nothing more than to spend time with you now, and in the future. Like a parent wanting to talk with a child, God wants to talk and spend time with you. He does this through the reading of His Word and through quiet time in prayer. The creator of the universe wants to spend time with you! What is the only thing that can inhibit this time? You. Don’t allow your wants to interfere with your relationship with God. He has paid an insurmountable price to spend time with you; recognize the value He has placed on you and let yourself be loved. One last thought—God has placed this value on every human being. Don’t believe me, check out John 3:16.

Christmas is a special time. Eastpoint is decorated and seasoned for a beautiful Christmas.

“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace”. Isaiah 9:6

Be sure to be with us this Sunday for our Annual Thanksgiving service and dinner.
A turkey will be given away to the first ten people who that arrive for our AM service.
Pastor’s sermon will be “A Proper Perspective on Thanksgiving”. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 states “Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
The CBC basketball team will be ministering, in our Sunday PM service. The CBC team always shares something exciting and they are a blessing to have with us.

Praise the Lord for joy in every circumstance! One of our Eastpointer’s is recovering from a double lung transplant. He is breathing with new lungs. God does heal through medical science. This Sunday, Pastor Claude will be honoring veterans. His sermon title this Sunday morning, is Veterans of Spiritual Warfare. The key verse is Ephesians 6:12. “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
Sunday evening we will be continuing in the “BE Attitudes”. Endurance-The Eight Step to Happiness. I don’t know about you but I do not like to endure anything that is uncomfortable. Normally, I have a hard time being happy about it. So I really need this sermon.
This Saturday, is our Ladies Prayer Breakfast. This is always a wonderful time of fellowship and sharing with each other.
Our Eastpoint church family pray, rejoice and cry together. There is great strength in resting in God’s love and being around His people.

Philippians 2:3 “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself”
Last week’s sermon really hit home with me. So I can’t wait to hear this Sunday’s message.
Sunday Evening will be the Attitudes series: “Peacemaking-The Seventh Step to Happiness” Matt 5:9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the sons of God”

Pastor and I are ready to be back at Eastpoint. We had a great time off and enjoyed every minute. However, we really missed our church family!
