Pastor told a story last week about a little girl who had such a wonderful Christmas and had so many toys to unwrap. She went to her parents and said " Can Mary and Joseph have another baby next year?" She wanted to make sure she could have the same event happen again for her.

You know , if we have accepted Jesus as our Savior, we have Him all year round. Thank goodness. I need HIM everyday.

If you have not experienced Christ, now is the time. Please join us at Eastpoint for our Christmas Eve 6:30-7:30 service and our Christmas Day 11:00 service. Come experience HIS love. When you think no one loves you, HE does.

Today was Grandparents Day for our special needs grandson. We felt so honored to be there.
However, both my husband and I had a sad moment, thinking how disappointing it is to see children including ours that struggle to do normal life skills.

Then I was reminded of the verse that the Lord gave me when my grandson was born.
Psalm 139:14 "....for I am fearfully and wonderfully made, marvellous are thy works...", God has a special plan for his life even with special challenges in living a normal life.

Pastor's sermon Sunday is "What the baby in the manager didn't do" . This should be a good one. There are times I ask " why God didn't you do this and that". His answer is "I gave my only son, who was perfect, to come as a baby and grow and then die on a cross for your sins."

Thats good enough for me.

Well, the race has began! 26 more days until Christmas Day. Do you already feel your heart racing? Can I get all that I need to be done? Is there enough money for all I need to purchase?
Do I have enough credit left on my credit card to charge? Will I be able to pay the bill when it comes in? Is grandma going to be mad if I don't come to dinner for Christmas at her house instead of my husband's mother? Wow, maybe we should just skip Christmas.

Oh yeah, Christmas is about JESUS coming as a baby. A rejoicing time to be thankful that JESUS came to save our lives from sin.

This Sunday, Pastor Claude will sharing " Surviving the Most Wonderful Time of the Year."

You know what, I think I need to hear this sermon. Come and join me.

Thursday, November 17, 2011

I have always thought God could do anything and everything. Well, Pastor says his sermon Sunday is titled" Five Things God Cannot Do". I can't wait to hear this one.
This Sunday evening the Central Bible College Basketball team will be here to minister at the 6:00am service. They always have an exciting service and lots of action.
I thought today how thankful I am to be apart of the Eastpoint Family Church. They truly are my family. Please join us and learn what it is like to know someone loves you no matter who you are or what you have done.

Wednesday, November 9, 2011

Pastor is continuing his sermon series referring to the guardrails that are placed in our lives.

Matthew 6:24 states " No man can serve two masters". Unfortunately, we all want to run our own lives until we hit a bump and then call out "God help me". Being the heavenly Father that God is, he doesn't shout out saying " you idiot didn't you see the guardrail I put up for you". The guardrail of doubt about a certain relationship or business deal. The guardrail of "waiting" or "directing our life from destruction with alcohol and drugs". But NO we want to run our lives, because we know better than God. But God is so loving and is always wooing us to HIM.

Please come join Sunday,as Pastor shares from Daniel 1:5-9 "Make up your mind , guardrail once and for all"

Tuesday, October 18, 2011

Thank the Lord for the rails on the highway that protects us from running off into a cliff or ditch.

Did you know God sets up cautionary rails in our life, to protect us from making grave mistakes?
Pastor will be speaking this Sunday about the Guardrails of God's Protection.

Have you always made the right decision? Have you just had a crash because of a bad decision? We can find caution signs and ways to help prevent disaster in God's Word.

Please come and join us at Eastpoint this Sunday and let's find out how to watch for those God ordered guardrails.

Thursday, September 29, 2011

Well, fall has come. Life has seasons doesn't it? Maybe the season of life you are in now, you don't particularly like. God's word says that HE never changes. HE is always the same. That means to me, I can Always go to HIM in whatever season I am in and HE will level with me. He is not fickle and changeable. I need that kind of relationship.
Come to Eastpoint and find a relationship with good friends and Jesus Christ.

Pastor's sermon this Sunday is "Pass by Review". Someday we will all pass by Jesus at the "Judgement Seat of Christ". I want to hear HIM say "Well done thy good and faithful sevant".
The more I hear and read God's word , the more I want to be faithful.
See you at church!

In our children's Sunday School Class last week , we were learning the verse "Casting all your anxiety upon him, for he careth for you. 1 Peter 5:7. NIV. Jacob H. spoke up and said "I will always be anxious because I have attention deficit." I replied , " Now Jacob , we can pray and God can help us with our anxious moments even though we may have a medical condition. In fact, we can pray that God can heal our " attention deficit" medical issues and make us better." He replied, "O No, I will have it forever." My heart broke, because he had it in his mind he would never get better and he would always be anxious.
Pastor spoke on the devil's schemes last Sunday. It is indeed the scheme of the devil to attack our minds. He delights in making us feel defeated.
That is why we need to be in God's house to learn and be encouraged. Before the class was over that Sunday, Jacob started to understand that he could be better with God's healing power.
This Sunday is National Sunday Day, please come to Sunday School at Eastpoint at 9:30 and Morning Worship at 10:30.
You will feel welcome and God will meet your need.

Yesterday, I cleaned under our refrig and what a surprise. I thought I had a spotless kitchen floor but boy, the stuff that was hiding under the frig.
I begin to think about my Christian walk with God. I thought I had everything under control and that I was a pretty good moral person. But I begin to think of some areas of my life that need some cleaning up , maybe they are hidden to people around me, but God shined a light on them.
Psalm 69:5 states KJV "O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hidden from thee."
I like this verse better Psalms 119:11 KJV " Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." If I read God's Word , He can help to keep my life clean and prevent hidden sins.
Come to Eastpoint and learn from God's word and let God shine a light on your heart. It is wonderful to be loved by a loving and forgiving God and to be apart of loving fellowship.

A couple of weeks ago, the lights went at our house. So, I go for our trusty flashlight, which I could not find. There was a camp lantern we keep in the bedroom for emergencies, however the batteries were dead. I had put off getting our house a little more organized, and now I was paying the price. I needed to leave to go to Sunday night service. The car was in the garage and the garage was pitch black. I couldn't see to pull the string to open the garage door, since the garage door is run by electricity. Yes, I had candles but the hot wax run down my hand as I tryed to maneuver around with it. This experience made me think of a few things.
What would happen if this was a major disaster? Am I prepared?
Do I have my house in order? Am I prepared?
Later, I found 2 flashlights one in the garage and one under our bed. I had the resources all the time, but didn't have my house in order.
"Things and Situations" can happen in our lives and we are not prepared emotionally, financially. and physically. However, if we get our house in order spiritually , these diasters can be buffered by the God's Word, which should be our foundation. God has given us the Resource, The Bible.
We just need to read it, study it and believe it.
Come to Eastpoint and learn how to get prepared for lifes events.

Friday, August 19, 2011

David and Brenda Pantleo will be with us this Sunday. They are missionaries to America's Bikers. They just came from Sturgis, SD for the biker rally. I am sure they will have many testimonies about what God is doing among the bikers. Please bring a biker friend with you, you won't be disappointed.

Sunday evening we will be having a baptismal service, after hearing the word from John Heide, our Assemblies of God Seniors Adult Coordinator. He has a great story to tell and will bless us with his music ability.

Tuesday, August 23, at 10:00 will be our first Ladies Bible Study at 10am. The topic is "Is Your Home prepared for a disaster?" Bring your Bible, notebook and flashlight. Bible references will be from Proverbs 31:10-31.

See you this week at Eastpoint!

Friday, August 12, 2011

Last week we had a rummage sale. We sold over $370, which will go to a missions pledge that our Ladies Ministries made. Jo A. was very instrumental in coordinating the sale. Jo just recently started coming to Eastpoint. Jo has made new friends and those friends love her. She also has made a new commitment to obey Christ. Her life is changing. What if Jo did not start going back to church? That is a big IF, isn't/ it.
Lupe has started to come because of Julie who lost her son in a tragic accident. Pastor and Eastpoint Family Church ministered to Julie's family during their loss. Lupe saw the love and wanted to be a part of it. Lupe and Julie are now teaching Sunday School class and Julie just asked last week if she could start working in the baby nursery. She said God spoke to her through last week's sermon about Samuel. Just as God spoke to Samuel, God spoke to her.
What IF Jo, Lupe, Julie had not started back to church? Their lives would not be as fulfilled as they are becoming now.
Come ,Try Church, Try Eastpoint. The love of God is there and you will be loved.

This week Pastor will be starting a series on the Life of Samuel. Samuel was a good boy who grew to be a good man. His mother prayed had for a son and then she told God she would give Samuel back for the service of the kingdom of God.

We took our grandsons out for supper last night. As I was looking at them , my prayer was "God let them grew up to good boys and good men." But you know there are many good men in the world, however they don't have a relationship with Jesus. Jesus is the one who can make their lives more full fulled and of course ready for eternity. So, my prayer now is. "God let my grandsons know you as Lord and Savior and then you ,Lord can help them be good boys and good men., who will be used for your kingdom"

I am excited about this series on Samuel. Come join us this Sunday!

Tuesday, July 26, 2011

We just came back from vacation ,visiting Boston and surrounding islands. The ocean is so vast.
I begin to think how did Jesus ever walk on water and I don't blame Peter for being afraid of walking on the ocean. It was all in the matter of trust in Jesus that He would not let him drown.

Last Sunday, the children's Sunday School lesson was from John 21:1-17. Jesus saw that the disciples had been fishing all night without catching any fish. He yelled out from the shore and said "throw your nets on the right side of the boat". They questioned but obeyed. And yes, they got more fish then the nets could hold. I asked one of my students what if the disciples had thrown the net on the left side, what would of happened? Tai K. replied "then they wouldn't of caught any fish". It is all about obedience , isn't it?

This Sunday , Pastor will speaking to us from II Samuel 6:1-6 titling his message "The Fear of Foolishness". Some things what God ask use to do , may seem foolish. But He knows , after all he did create us.
Start coming on Sunday evening also, Pastor will be speaking on "Samuel the Boy". We have a great time of worship and learning from His Word.

See you at Eastpoint!

Thursday, July 14, 2011

Well, it really happened. I went to Hyvee on Seniors Discount Day. I was hoping to say at the end of my purchases, this will be a Seniors discount. Before, I could utter those words, the middle aged clerk said, I gave you your Senior discount. It actually happened, she could tell I was a Senior. After the sudden sadness of reality, being over 60 is a good thing. Not everyone gets a 5 % discount on their groceries!
Then I thought there has to be a spiritual lesson to this. I wish someone could look at me and say, " I know she loves God" without asking me. Those that love God, love Jesus, who can rule and reign in their life. And not everyone has experienced him like I have.
So, I really have something, my 5% discount and Jesus in my heart. Eventually, those still living will be a Senior. Not everyone will accept Christ. My prayer is that God will allow me to show his love and the Jesus I have in my heart can become theirs too!

Pastor is speaking from Romans 12:1-3 this Sunday.
Verse 2 "Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think."

Lord, change me to like you.

Wednesday, July 6, 2011

Hope everyone had a great Fourth of July. Our service at Eastpoint Sunday was wonderful.

I can't believe how hot it is here, can't wait until fall.

Oops, just found out the title of Pastor's sermon this Sunday. "Worshipper or Complainer".
Can't wait to hear that one!

Join me and see if maybe we can find out how to change our complaining to worshipping.

Tuesday, June 28, 2011

I woke up yesterday to find our beautiful Bradford tree had been struck by lightning. Now from the trunk to the top, it was laying down in our yard and driveway. This tree is really not ours , it is part of our condo subdivision's, however it shaded our front living space , birds played in it and I liked it. It was a shelter for our bird bath , where the robins bathed. By the way, the bird bath was unshakable and had not been moved one bit.

My first words to my husband were "oh no and WHY my tree". Then I begin to think how silly to ask WHY about a tree, thank the Lord it didn't fall inside our home. But as I was reminded from Pastor's sermon Sunday night, there are times in our lives when the question WHY is very real. The loss of a job, loved one, relationship problems and unexpected illness are WHY's. There no real answers to the WHYS. We as Christians can only believe that God is God and He can help us through the WHY's with His word.

And then there was the bird bath, it was unshakable. Standing firm right in the middle of the storm. I want to stand firm in life's storm and I know I can only do that with God's help.

This Sunday , Pastor will be sharing from 1 Timothy 2. Being July 4th weekend, Pastor will be sharing some patriotic quotes in his sermon. Pastor loves history and sometimes incorporates history quotes in his sermons.

I love these:

In 1777, the Continental Congress voted to spend $300,000 to purchase Bibles for distribution in the nation.

President Ronald Regan states: "If we ever forget that we are "One Nation, under God",. then we will be on a nation gone under."

Come join us Sunday to be a part of something good and exciting!

Wednesday, June 22, 2011

Wow, what a great Father's Day at Eastpoint Family church last week.

This week pastor is speaking on "Peace in the Storm" Hasn't there been alot of storms all over the US? After a tornado hits, there becomes a calmness and sometimes sunshine appears How can that be after such destruction?

How can you have peace IN THE storm of life? Like divorce, death, unemployment, loneliness, sickness, and not enough money. There has to be an answer. Come Sunday to hear THE ANSWER from God's Word.

In our Children's Sunday School Class, Tai, Alex, and Daiza are earning $1dollar bills. The only requirement is to know your memory verse and bring back the Sunday School paper they learned it from. We feel this confirms the Word of God in their heart and also responsibility. Come bring your children for a Godly experience and fun at Eastpoint.

See you Sunday!

Monday, June 13, 2011

Last Friday, it looked like one of my tires was going flat. Thank goodness it did no
t have a nail in it.It only needed some air in it and rest of the tires needed additional air too. Wow, did it make a difference in the ride.

I begin to think , it is just like when I get low spiritually. The earthly ride gets kind of bumpy.
But when I recharge with God's Word , prayer and being in God's house , I get energized again.

Yesterday at Eastpoint was an energizing day. Pastor proclaimed the word and two people came to find Christ as their Savior. One was a young woman who had just lost her 3 year old son to a tragic accident. She wants to live for Jesus now and one day see her son in heaven

Please come join us on Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm for Bible study, prayer, and fun Bible teaching for the children. And Always on Sundays for spirital renewal.

Are you spiritually low? Check your spiritual air gauge.

Tuesday, June 7, 2011

Life has changes. Birth to death and the inbetween can be uncertain. Some seasons we can be prepared for and others not so prepared. I know that in my own persanal life , without God's word and God's direction I could not make it through all the seasons and changes of life.

That is what you receive at Eastpoint is the God inspired Word teaching.

This Wednesday, pastor is preaching on Mark 14:6 and Sunday looking at Mark 1, continuing speaking on miracles.

We have several people at Eastpoint that need a healing miracle from cancer. We are believing.
Jesus has the power to cure not only physical disease but spiritual affliction was well.

Please come join us to experience they love we have for people and the God's Word.

Thursday, May 26, 2011

Well, the world did not come to end last Saturday. However, probably those who survived the tornado in Joplin , Missouri thought their world has come to an end. We must pray for the survivors and all the area cities that have experienced disasters this week.
The Bible states in Ecclesiastes 9:12 “Moreover, no man knows when his hour will come.”and in Luke 12:40 “ You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”
This week the news forecasters where telling us to be prepared for a storm, or tornado, or a national disaster.
How can we prepare for Christ’s return? Just ask Him to be your Lord and Saviour and he will forgive you of your sins. “Old things have passed away, behold all things became new.”
Come join this Sunday. Pastor is continuing to speak on Miracles. We had a gentlemen who gave his testimony Sunday. He shared how God’s people had prayed to save his leg from being amputated.
He stood with both legs Sunday, praising God for his miracle. Do you need a miracle?
Come hear the word of God , to increase your faith and to be around people who will love you for who you are.

Thursday, May 19, 2011

What is a miracle? Pastor is going to be speaking to us about Miracles this Sunday.

God opened the waters of the Red Sea so the Israelites could walked on draw ground. That was a miracle..

Jesus performed a miracle by turning the water into wine at a wedding.

The widow had a collector come to her house one day to collect her debt. She had no money. Elisha , the prophet told her to have her sons gather every pitcher the could find. When they did, she was to take the small amount of oil that she had and start pouring into all the pitchers. She keep pouring, pouring, and pouring until every pitcher was full. Then she went and sold the oil and that was her provision for as long as she needed for her and her boys. The small amount of oil became her miracle

Do you need a highly, improbable extraordinary event , development , or accomplishment to happen in your life? That’s called a miracle.

God still performs, directs and orchestrates miracles.
Read John 2: 1-11 and come to Eastpoint Sunday ready to hear Pastor’s encouraging and challenging word from God.

Reminiscing and Looking Ahead

What a Great Mother’s Day service we had at Eastpoint Family Church last Sunday. Our Eastpoint men prepared a wonderful breakfast for the ladies, and the ladies stayed out of the kitchen!
Pastor shared from II Samuel 21:1-14. This Bible story refers to a mother names Rizpah. Quite frankly, I had can remember reading about this mother. This godly mother loved your son, protected him and sacrificed for him. Sounds like us moms of today, doesn’t it?
Moms take time to read 1Cor 13: 4-7.
Love is Patient.
Love is also Kind.
Love is not rude/doesn’t act unbecomingly
Love keeps no records of wrong
Love rejoices in Truth
Love believes all things.
Well, one week later, the Mother’s Day sermon is good to be refreshed in my spirit.

This Sunday is a great occasion. We are honoring our graduates with a Baccalaureate Service.
Pastor’s sermon is titled “Pursuing Your Dreams”
We all have had dreams and we all been disappointed when some do not come to past.
He will speak from Genesis 37 referring to Jacob’s youngest son. Joseph. Joseph was a good boy and was loved by his father. His father showed special favoritism to Joseph and his bothers became jealous.
God gave Joseph some dreams, and unfortunately Joseph shared them with his bothers.

Come Sunday and see how Pastor will share with us who to share are dreams with and what dreams to we pursue .
We have an exciting church and we want you to be a part of it!

DO YOUR WANT YOUR NAME CHANGED

TOP of the morning to you!

I guess I am still feeling a little English after watching last week's gala event of Prince Harry and Dutchess Katherine's wedding.

What a beautiful occassion. I started to think how Dutchess Katherine's position was not only changed as a single person to married , but as a Dutchess to a Princess. All just by connecting herself by marriage and committing to be one in marriage.

This reminded me when I connected myself to Pastor Claude in marriage and committed my life to be his loving companion forever. I loved having my name changed from Ms. to Mrs.

The most important commintment I ever made , was when I commented my life to Christ.
My name was changed from "sinner" to "a child of the King".

Angels were rejoicing in heaven. For when a sinner comes to Christ, heaven has a joyous celebration.

Not only was my name changed, my life was changed, and my destiny was headed to a heavenly eternity.

Has your name been changed? Have you been changed from "sinner" to " A child of King Jesus"?

If not, you can be liberated by saying a simple prayer of salvation. Repeat, this prayer.
"Jesus come and live in my heart forever and forgive me from my sin"
With that simple prayer, your name has been changed and you are a believer of Christ.

If you do not have a church home, where you can learn more about God's love, then FIND one.

We would love to have you at Eastpoint Family Church, where people love God and love other people. Come join us.

Are You Dull?

Several times in the course of the day, I’ll reach over to my wedding ring and feel it, twist it, and think about who it represents. When we were first married, a waiter commented on how shiny our rings were. The more I thought about his comment, the more I thought about the years to come, and the dullness seen on my grandparent’s and parent’s rings. My grandfather’s ring was a thin ring of gold that had long lost its luster, but it never misplaced his ring finger and symbolized over 60-plus years of marriage. It made me want to strive to achieve dullness in our lives as a couple, also.

The other day I felt a small nick in the outer band. At first, I was a little disheartened. Something that I treasure, something that I will never give up had a defect on it. Then I thought about it for a few more seconds. That nick represented time—hard times, good times, times that can’t be repeated and times that are yet to be. Soon, that defect became a badge of honor and accomplishment. In fact, I find myself looking for it whenever I feel my ring now.

Then I thought about it some more. What else is considered extremely precious and is flawed; becoming more flawed with the progression of time. We are. God has created perfect imperfections when He created mankind. We all have nicks, faults, and things that make us unlovable—maybe even despised by human standards. But God looks at us with eyes of love and Fatherly pride. There is nothing He wouldn’t do for His children. He even says so in Psalms, the Gospels, and the Epistles. So when you do or say something that you would consider unforgivable, go to God with it and confess it. He loves us so much and has given more than we can ever imagine (the death and resurrection of Jesus), that He will readily forgive us. Our job is to know and remember how much He loves us and try our best to not repeat those things of which we have confessed. This is one of the ways we can show God how much we love Him. Let yourself become dull; there’s no greater display of love than longevity.
